It was 8:30 am when I was eventually managed to sip the lively air of earth. 8th of May, will never be a usual date to me but means more than everything as this particular date always exist as an indicator which makes me realize that I am growing older year after year. Equipped with 10 members in my family had indeed made my life meaningful and appreciate the valuable time we had spent together and wanted to crucially preserved the eternal love bond between us forever. To be born in a state of Kelantan which located in the north-eastern corner of the peninsular of Malaysia just makes me feel proud enough as to be able to live in such a sedate, rich in diversity and different cultures place.
Despite of having more than 95% of Muslim, the local cuisine and traditional dining is second to none. To stand a chance living in a territory stuffed with people who likely prefer to live an abstemious kind of living truly be a privilege for me. As we are all aware that the state of Che Siti Wan Kembang is not only known with its sundry of cultures but also famous with its unique food.Let me introduce some of our traditional heritage and tasty “kuih” from my country, you may already familiar with some of them, like, lompat tikam, jala emas, putu halba, buah tanjung, cek mek molek, and my favorite one which is Akok. For centuries, the originality of the taste made by the ancestors is not altered. From savoury dishes to dessert all combined in one perfect menu to make one’s whole day wonderful and delightful.
Learning English had never been easy for me but I believe there is always a way to make it works. Ever since I was 6, my predilection for English had never ceased to be visible which it was my favourite subject followed science. My education in school was never been a triumph that could be proud of as the others who successfully excelled in every examination they had been through with flying colours. Fortunately, there was English that always gave me hope and somehow inspired me to keep holding on and convinced myself to such extent that there is always something that I am actually good at. Apart from getting my English education in school and tuition classes, the knowledge could be obtained beyond the classroom. Learning English for me is borderless which I learn the language mostly linking to what I do every day. I watch movies, dramas, films, documentaries, nearly all of them in English. Listening to music is not ‘just’ a hobby for me to do during spare time as most of the time I will frankly study and try to understand the lyrics of the particular song I heard regardless of the genres and tempo of the songs.
Basically, I was planning to pursue my studies in engineering since I love physics damn much, but knowing that I have to confront this subject that I hate since I was in my mother's belly (lol), which is mathematics and have to go through all the complicated and nonsense calculation for 4 consecutive years, I had no choice but to switch to plan b which to further my studies in language studies. Yes, it is not easy to let go of something you are genuinely keen for it, but I believe that He knows the best for me.
My father is just a man who works at a post office and rides his motorbike in the afternoon wandering from house to house sending letters and parcels, but for me he’s extraordinary father, and means more than everything that worth to be valued and appreciated. He is the one who encourages me to be in this field as he understands that I love to learn languages He always throws supports to me and wants me to be a teacher so bad that I had been through a lot of examinations and interviews. just to be in this particular teaching English programme, and finally I made it for the first stage, and pursuing my studies here in TESL, at UKM, one of the top research universities in Malaysia as well as Asia pacific in general.I couldn’t describe how grateful I was when I find out that I made it through for the interview.Like the other students, I wish to successfully complete my 4 years of studies here. Most importantly, to be an innovative future leader to shape the best character in people.
